The mind is a battlefield. It’s an arena where two opposing sides are constantly at war. It’s a field filled with thoughts and if the right thoughts aren’t cultivated, you will reap a harvest of insanity.

Any thought that comes to our minds, whether good or bad, we have a choice to either dwell or dismiss the thought. But some people think they aren’t hurting anybody when they think improper thoughts. Well let’s face it… honestly; no one knows they thought it but them. If this is the case then why do we get embarrassed by some of things we think about?

What preoccupies the mind says a lot about you. For thoughts eventually become actions, actions shape your character, and your character defines your destiny. Where is your character leading you? It’s very important to understand that thoughts dictate your life.

One of my favorite quotes is: “I Think, Therefore I Am,” by René Descartes. I love this quote so much because it’s biblically true, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he” Proverbs 23:7. What do you think when you see yourself in the mirror? You eventually become what you think you are. And that is why it’s so important to be aware that we give Satan access points when we dwell on the wrong thoughts.

We constantly hear messages and sermons on guarding our hearts and being aware of what we feed into our spirits. We hear so much on how to keep Satan out that we inadvertently keep God out too. So the message is simple:

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things
are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of
good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these
things.”

Philippians 3:8
