Loving God With Your All

Mark 12:30

• “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first commandment.”

– This means to love God with your entire being. Everything about you should show the love of God and that you love God. Sometimes we get caught up in loving other things and people so much that we give God either the leftovers or nothing. God should be our first love. When we give God less of ourselves life becomes ritualistic and unsatisfying. Going to church would become something you “just do,” and our walk with God becomes stagnate and based on feelings.

-Serving God, loving God should never be based on feelings because feelings are fickle. We should give God our entire being, 110% even when we don’t feel like it. It is easy to love God when we feel good, but what about the moments when we don’t feel up to par. Just like it’s easy to praise and worship God when things are going good. Do you praise and worship God when things are going bad? Our service, our worship to God should never be based on feelings because we worship Him for who He is not because we feel like it. What if God “didn’t feel like” waking you up this morning?

How Can I Love God? —I’m glad you asked

With Your Heart?
Psalm 9:1 – “I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart. I will tell of all Your marvelous works.”
Psalm 119:11 – “Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.”

With Your Soul?
Psalm 33:20 – “Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield.”
Psalm 34:2 – “My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; the humble shall hear of it and be glad.”

With Your Mind?
Philippians 2:5 – “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:8 – “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are
noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praise worthy – meditate on these things.”
Colossians 3:2 – “Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.”

With Your Strength?
Psalm 118:14 – “The Lord is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation.”
Proverbs 10:29 – “The way of the Lord is strength for the upright, but destruction will come to the workers of iniquity.”

-There plenty more scriptures in the Bible that can be found on more ways to love God with our entire being. So what’s stopping you from giving God your all?
